One of the qualities to look out for in a teacher is passion. I have passion to impact positively in the younger ones because I was once like them and I knew the how helpful it will be in the future if the foundation is solid. Children tend to lose interest in mathematics while growing up but if they are lucky to be trained by a compassionate teacher, they would be more interested in mathematics.

Another quality is communication. A teacher must be able to communicate with his students for better understanding of the subject matter. Present them with real life scenarios because kids understand better when they can replicate what they are being thought with objects around them.

Students understand better when problem are solved in steps. I do take my take to explain each topics before I dive into solving the mathematical problems. I do allow my students to express themselves freely for me to know those that need more attention because all of the students cannot understand the concept the same time.
