I always start with an overview of the topic before moving on to key exam questions. Depending on the level, sometimes we extend beyond the curriculum. I have an open conversation with my pupils around the way they learn and what they want from the lesson. Always adapting where necessary.
I want the student to make the most out of my lessons therefore, a constant conversation with them and parents is the key to success. For A Level students, reading around the topic is crucial for the top grades and therefore, I like to make sure we explore this. Furthermore, understanding the exam format is necessary at GCSE and A level. Being an examiner means I understand how the mark scheme works. Breaking down the paper and focusing on exam questions allow my students to be the best prepared for the knowledge and exam aspect.
Furthermore, I love teaching and being able to tutor is an honour. I want to make sure my passion for my subject comes across in my lessons. I always have room and time for questions and encourage them.
