I found maths to be difficult when i was in primary school. Then a new teacher joined the school and she made maths and science look very easy and interesting. Since then, I have taken pains to study what successful teachers do and developed/fine-tuned my teaching techniques. I am very patient and focus primarily on creating an interest in maths and science. Frequently, I talk about examples of the application of STEM concepts in real life so that the student can understand why they are investing time in learning maths and science. Once an interest is created, it is much easier to make the student understand complex concepts and go on the exciting journey of understanding the physical world.
I focus on individual differences and tailor my approach to ensure that the fundamental concepts are solid.
