Mohammad Sirwan Barzanji

With a CELTA certification, a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature, and extensive experience in English language instruction, teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) in diverse, multicultural settings, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to ILSC’s mission of delivering transformative educational experiences.
In my previous roles, I have taught English in various academic and language institutions. My expertise includes teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses, and exam preparation courses, such as IELTS. At the University of Kurdistan Language Center, I taught both intensive English courses to international students, and advanced English courses to both international and domestic students, emphasizing grammar, writing, and communication skills. In my role at Donya English Language Institute, I had to assess both fresh teacher and students’ English language proficiency, evaluating student progress, and designing and administering tests. I also conducted formal assessments, including IELTS speaking mock exams, and provided students with detailed feedback on their performance.
After the outbreak of Covid-19, I adapted my teaching methods to the online environment, maintaining high levels of student engagement and achievement. I have extensive experience in both face-to-face and online teaching environments, using platforms such as Zoom to deliver effective and interactive lessons. Additionally, I am committed to ongoing professional development and actively engage in scholarly activities to enhance my teaching practice. I have attended in-house professional development workshops and courses through British Council and University of Cambridge’s online courses.
