This is what my maths lessons are like...

I always aim to work with students by first diagnosing their strengths and weaknesses, then devising a tailored plan with them that will most efficiently get them to their target grade step by step.

I am flexible however like to follow a plan and schedule. I include lots of past-paper practise questions in my lessons as they are by far the most important factor to achieving high grades in maths. The questions start simple and are gradually made more difficult as you learn more. I do also set some homework based on the lesson topic that helps consolidate everything you learnt (so that you don't forget it). Then the next lesson we quickly go through it at the beginning as a warm up exercise and to identify any mistakes that you may have made.

Maths is all about problem solving, hence taking a step back to diagnose a problem and then formulating a logical step by step plan to get to the right answer. It couldn't be more simple if the correct technique is applied to each question and lots of practise is done. The more maths practise you do simply the better the grade you will achieve in your mocks and exams.
