I have a BEng and MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester. I have been working for 3 years and 6 months as an in-school science teacher as well as a private one2one (or small groups) tutor.
I taught students Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at key stage 3 (year 7 to year 9) and at GCSE (year 10 and 11). I also taught students Maths at key stage 3 and GCSE level (including further mathematics). At A-level, I have experience teaching Chemistry and Physics.
I look forward to working with you in the future and making the learning journey as enjoyable as possible.

Throughout my 3 years of experience, I learned that the best way to learn is to focus on one topic and stick with it even if the questions are difficult. I will teach strategies to overcome difficult questions and understand the topic at a much deeper level. My lessons have a structured schedule where we cover the curriculum over a number of weeks, rather than rushing through 2-3 topics in one lesson. At the same time, there is the flexibility to focus on particular weaknesses within a topic and make exciting links between different topics by asking questions. No question is a silly question! Students in my classes have the opportunity to ask any question. This will give them the opportunity to learn from their mistakes and have a deeper and improved understanding of the topic. Every student has a unique learning experience, and there is the flexibility to learn at your own pace in my lessons.

The lesson itself is always structured in the format of a prior knowledge check, content/practice activities, and a final short activity to check that you have learned new knowledge or skill.
