Individual differences among the students is something natural which needs to be identified by the teacher and if properly addressed it will certainly implicate positive outcomes in the student's understanding and improvement in overall performance in the subject.
Motivating student to develop the subject taste through rigorous practice can lead to improvement in overall performance in the subject, specifically those areas as identified with short comings and suggest remedies to overcome it.
I personally expect my students, not to be reluctant/ hesitant to show heartiest and sincere involvement in the class activity and make sure his active participation. Make the activity a two-way not one-way practice mean to involve more senses, as much as he can, for better results in teaching-learning process.
