I have tutored since I was 16 years old and have worked with various ages and abilities. I have worked for 3 different tutoring companies and have been a private tutor since 2020. I started online teaching on Zoom and Teams before the pandemic so I have good knowledge of technology that will help deliver seamless teaching sessions. Many of my students have achieved their goals under my tutelage.

I prefer to have a friendly dynamic with my students as opposed to one built on authority as I want my students to feel comfortable asking whatever they need- after all, I am here to help you!

I have 2 methods of teaching- the tutee will select this:

1) Content-based- This method allows the tutee to select the topic for the week a week prior. I will plan the lesson around this topic and we will spend the entire lesson tackling content and exam questions about the topic(s).

2) Specification-based- This method allows me to pre-plan the topics according to the order in which they appear in the board specification. All topics and bases will be covered.

The content will be covered in the first half of the lesson and the second half will be exam technique/ questions. The last 10 minutes of the session will be utilised to go through marked HW from the week before.

At the end of each session, I will send a summary document which my previous tutees have found very useful. This will contain a summary of the HW, feedback for parents and any extra notes from the sessions. Parents have found this useful to keep track of their child's progress and allow them to have an idea of what is going on in the lesson. However, I am also happy for parents to contact me whenever!
