I make sure to identify my students' learning style and goal in learning English and tailor my lessons accordingly. Teaching someone who wants to use the language for work will be different from teaching someone who wants to use it for studies.
Communicative and task based activities are mainly what I use- giving a lot of affordances for my students to use and practice the language. I prefer using authentic materials because we are going to use the language in a real world. There will be a lot of interactions and you will speak a lot :)
My students are the center of my teaching. It's about inspiring them to like the language they learn and build their confidence in learning. Above all, I believe language learning skills are more valuable than drills and memorisation. These skills are what I want my students to have so they can face any problems encountered in the language. I.e. reading skills/communication coping skills.
