Lessons usually take an hour. The structure generally follows learning or consolidating knowledge on a topic, followed by a brief summary. After, a selection of key questions to test the newly-formed information will be completed along with a breakdown of the answers by me. I aim to create a relaxed but concentrated environment so that learning is more enjoyable and students do not feel scared to make mistakes. That's when the learning happens! I've found that repeated testing of knowledge and working through mistakes is the best way to ensure it sticks. See for yourself!

I have not had any professional experience in private tutoring yet, however I am well-acquainted with teaching others and helping them through tricky topics. I have been doing this for most of my academic career and it has not only helped my friends and fellow students greatly, but also further improved my knowledge in a particular subject. For this reason, I believe teaching others to be extremely helpful for all parties involved. Moreover, the joy of assisting others on their academic journey and seeing them succeed is a great motivator of mine.

My goal is to motivate others to pursue their academic dreams by helping them build their confidence in whatever areas they are weak in. Along the way, I hope lessons will become more carefree and students will feel comfortable in sharing ideas and making mistakes. I want to provide them with the necessary tools for any exam they must take and provide them with the best chance of success.

Looking forward to teaching!

In the past, I have really struggled to find a private tutor who is understanding of my needs and can successfully support my learning. Too often I felt dumb when making mistakes and ultimately, I didn't feel comfortable to freely share my ideas. Thankfully I came across Mio's ad on FindTutors. Not only is he fully supportive of my learning journey, but he has made me feel comfortable with getting things wrong. I finally feel reassured enough to contribute to lessons even if that means making mistakes at first. The lessons were very helpful and allowed me to grasp topics which I found particularly difficult before. Mio creates interesting, fun and challenging lessons with a relaxed atmosphere to give you the best chance at understanding any subject. Cannot recommend him enough.
