During my time as an A-level English literature student, in which I achieved an A,I also took on the responsibility of tutoring younger students in English, helping them navigate the challenges of the subject. Whether it was guiding them through complex texts or helping them improve their writing skills, I found immense satisfaction in seeing their progress and developing their confidence in English.

In addition to my academic background, I have had the unique experience of being in the shoes of a language learner myself. In June 2024 I spent a month in France attending a language school, fully immersing myself in the process of learning French. This experience gave me invaluable insight into the struggles and triumphs that come with learning a new language. I understand the frustration of not finding the right words and the joy of finally being able to communicate effectively in a foreign language along with identifying the techniques in which teachers used that really aided in my learning. This empathy allows me to connect with my students on a personal level, understanding their challenges and providing tailored support.

I will use immersive methods like speaking only in English during lessons to encourage language use. Visual aids, flashcards, and interactive activities will help reinforce vocabulary and grammar. Tailoring lessons to individual learning styles, incorporating games, role-playing, and real-life scenarios will make learning engaging. Regular feedback and practice will build confidence and fluency over time.
