Millicent Blair

Hi there! My name’s Millicent, I am a graduate from Durham University with a Bachelor’s Degree in French and Spanish. I have over three years of experience as a tutor after starting in 2020 during the pandemic to help student who were struggling with the lack of contact hours at school. Because of this, I make sure that my lessons are always enjoyable as well as efficient, pinpointing gaps in knowledge as soon as possible and working on those to build a well-rounded confidence surrounding our topics.

I offer a variety of sessions:
- French and Spanish up to A-Level
- Maths up to GCSE
- Primary English and Maths combined
- 11 Plus for KS2 looking to take the exam

My approach to tutoring is a team effort. We generally will always start with a mock-style test in the subject so I can see where we are at on a general level. We will also have an in-depth conversation about how you feel about this subject; are there areas you already know are difficult for you? Do you struggle with exam technique? Is there something you covered at school too quickly and you need to brush up? Do you feel totally stuck? After I have gotten to know your needs and wants, it’s then down to me to provide you with everything you need to succeed. Whether that is going back to basics on grammar topics or blitzing vocab in languages, working on fractions and decimals or algebra in maths, or refining our technique in past papers, I’ve got you covered. We will monitor progress closely throughout our time working together and keep in constant communication to make sure you are getting the most you can out of our sessions.
