I utilize personalized teaching methods such as, using different textbooks, presentations, videos, and real-life examples in order to most effectively approach my students and help them fully understand the material at hand and be able to apply it in their own lives. My teaching style involves quickly going over what we will be learning that day. Then I go back to the beginning of the presentation and start explaining the material more slowly and in-depth, elaborating on the main points that should be understood and memorized. This is when I often use visuals such as images and videos in order to keep the attention and interest of my students. After each section, I give real-life examples related to that topic so that my students can relate to it and understand it better in applied situations. At the end of the presentation, I ask if there are any questions or confusion which I appropriately address and reexplain if needed. Once the student feels that they understood the material, I ask them to give their own examples, or I give them a small test to see if they understood it properly. Once I am sure that the students understood the material and if there is any time left for our session, I play a small clip from a movie that demonstrates the psychological phenomena that we just learned about. This gives students extra real-life examples in a fun and engaging way which will help them learn better and retain the information much longer.
