My responsibility for tutoring your child falls as follows:
- Planning and preparing lesson plans that meet core objectives and principles and are in line with my student's curriculum goals
- Preparing instructional aids and supplemental teaching materials and resources consistent with learning objectives and student needs
- Delivering lessons using a variety of differentiated instructional techniques that are appropriate to the academic level and meet the diverse needs of my students
- Maximizing the appropriate use of technology as an instructional tool
- Teaching grammar and syntax, vocabulary and word usage and other principles of the English language
- Promoting students' understanding of and appreciation for literature
- Developing students' verbal skills including reading out loud, discussion and debate
- Developing students' writing skills
- Encouraging the development of critical thinking skills
- Monitoring performance and progress and modifying instructional methods to meet individual needs where necessary
- Keep parents or guardians informed of students' academic progress
