I am a Junior & Y7 Maths Specialists with 10yrs experience in independent schools and 500+ hours with private online lessons. My lessons are presenting a PowerPoint format, with an introduction, modelling and support to give it a go, then moving onto independent work. I cater to the student learning style and building confidence in applying their skills. Communication with the primary carer to feedback and request information from the class teacher is an essential part of supporting a student functionally. It would be helpful to know what the class focus is and when homework’s are due, to endeavour to set the student up to succeed.

My primary focus is on years 5,6&7. Transition into Y7 is a key part of acclimatising to senior school. Where there are gaps in understanding, I would ensure we start at the introduction stage of the objectives and work toward the current objective required within the national curriculum.

Students are encourage to bring their Maths book or homework to lessons or share their screen to their schools online homework platform. This way I can guide them through the necessary steps to a comfortable understanding to move forward independently.
