Michael Stevens

I am currently in my 4th year at Cambridge University studying Engineering, having achieved a high First Class in my BA, as well as 4 A*s at A Level. I have been tutoring students of all ages regularly for 4 years and specialise in A Level Physics, Maths and Further Maths. I also offer preparation for Oxbridge interviews, university admissions exams and personal statement review for Engineering, Maths and Physics related subjects. In addition, I am open to tutoring students in GCSE Science and Maths.

Each of my lessons are tailored to your personal needs. I believe the best way to succeed in exams is to genuinely understand what you are learning, rather than simple memorisation. I strongly encourage asking questions, as they are a great way to fortify your learning. In my lessons, I will teach you content so that you properly understand the underlying concepts. I will also quiz you often to keep you on your toes. Finally, we will go through questions together to consolidate your learning, and I will point out the key methods and tricks to succeed in solving problems, as well as the main areas students tend to make mistakes.

I deliver my lessons on Zoom, making full use of the whiteboard feature to draw diagrams, write down equations and solve problems, although if you are in the area, I can consider offering in person lessons. I am currently based in Cambridge.

Having recently completed my pre-university studies, I have personally experienced all the difficulties my students may come across when studying for their goals. I know the key areas students struggle with, as well as the best methods to overcome these difficulties. Not only do I teach the content required for exams, I also teach the tricks of the trade which allow my students to excel in their exams.
