While working at many companies across Japan I have learned and utilized different styles of teaching, and through my experiences I have arrived at my own unique style of teaching. I prefer to use a textbook as the basis of my classes, and in particular the Interchange series for adults, and the "Lets Go" and "Everybody Up" books for younger learners. As for young learners I teach phonics, and vocabulary, along with conversational phrases to progress their understanding and confidence in the language. As for adult learners I like to discuss opinions of the varied topics of the textbooks, or news items. Students are of course welcome to bring their own topics or make requests of my lessons also. I am more than willing to adjust my lessons to suit different students goals and ambitions with their studies.
I am also very experienced teaching all levels of students. I am just as happy teaching absolute beginners as I am with advanced level students. I have taught at companies in Japan. Each week I would travel to an oil company in Imabari, Ehime, to deliver English classes as part of my time working at the NOVA conversation school there. Indeed my experiences with the companies I have worked have prepared me for most any situation, be it learning for tests, learning to prepare for living in an English speaking company, learning to get work in an airport, or evening learning to further a career in ballet! I have lots of experience, so if your own goal is somewhat unique, just ask and I'll see what I can do!!
