I am a career scientist who has been tutoring in Nat 5 Chemistry and Maths and Higher Chemistry for the last two years. I am a laid back and friendly person who is committed to helping students to achieve their best possible results. I structure sessions to the needs of the individual. For example, if you identify a topic which you are struggling with then I will cover the theory of that topic and use examples and past paper questions to bring about a thorough understanding. Importantly, I will focus on how to answer exam questions so that your confidence grows and so that you are prepared for the kinds of questions that typically come up in exams. I can also help you to identify key topics that are usually in the exam so that we can revise and rehearse these in preparation for the exam.

Sessions are relaxed and my aim is for you to be comfortable and happy to talk openly about topics with no pressure. I will never put you on the spot by asking you questions but instead we will work together to get prepared for exams.

I like to use on line materials which I consider to be particularly effective at presenting topics. I use these as a focal point for discussion and as a means of doing questions together.

I am approachable and available for follow up if there is anything that arises on a topic which needs additional input from me. Each session is tailor made for individual abilities and progress.
