• Engage students and encouraged critical thinking and understanding of content through assignments to read four scholarly articles and write a formal assessment with emphasis on their own evaluation of the piece.
• Prompt student discussions with an assignment to locate and research news used to write an article on that week’s topic of discussion. Papers were shared online, and students responded to different posts.
• Deliver 1:1 support to students who needed extra assistance, including an international exchange student adjusting to English as a second language and one who worked full-time and struggled to keep up with assignments.
