Chemistry is a very interesting subject but some aspects are a bit technical. Once it is taught properly and students participate, learning becomes easy. For my classes, I enjoy using attractive PowerPoint slides. I make them simple, easy to follow and include lots of pictures. I incorporate videos and animations that illustrate the various chemistry concepts. I also use lots of practical examples to illustrate chemistry principles. Sometimes, I relate the concepts of chemistry to things that happen in industry or in the environment. Some aspects of chemistry are quite related to biology and so I use several aspects of science to make the chemistry interesting.
I enjoy using simple quizzes as revision activities. Sometimes, I use crossword puzzles, find-a-word and other other fun activities to assess learning. Mock exams and past paper questions are also used to prepare students for their final exams, because after all, success is our ultimate goal.
