During my lessons, my primary objective is to assist you, the student, in acquiring the fundamental skills and techniques necessary to excel in your academic goals. During my lessons, my primary objective is to assist you, the student, in acquiring the fundamental skills and techniques necessary to excel in your academic goals. I strive to make our lessons highly interactive, creating an environment that promotes confidence while we engage in discussions and explore various questions.

I find that a lesson duration of one hour per week is most effective, as this allows enough time to explore topics thoroughly whilst also not overloading you with work. My lessons are tailored towards your needs, whether preparing for GCSE, A-Level, or Mathematics University applications (MAT, STEP, TMUA, etc.) .

Depending on the style of lesson requested, I may begin each session by revising topics and ideas covered in the previous lesson (based on the spaced repetition revision method) to help reinforce the techniques and skills learned which builds up a solid mathematical foundation to work from. We will then progress onto the current topic, starting with what you already know to reaffirm knowledge, and we will then move onto more difficult questions. I will keep pushing you to your full potential and along the way drop useful tips and tricks to help you navigate even the most daunting problems.

I find that the main problems students find at a higher level are a lack of fundamental understanding and an uncertainty as to how to approach more intricate problems where the method(s) required are not explicitly given.

Therefore, my ultimate goal is for you to develop the skills and intuition required to allow you to succeed in whatever mathematical goals you desire.

Michael has been a great asset to my MAT preparation and in answering questions relating to admission at Oxbridge. He was quick in determining my ability and his teaching was tailored accordingly. He is patient with me when I falter despite his cues; he provides a learning environment where there is no judgement in repeating material. He has a thorough grounding in the most complex material examined in the MAT/TMUA/STEP/further mathematics curriculums. Michael is quick to illustrate his explanations and is able to provide counter-arguments to seemingly obvious assumptions. During the sessions the onus was on me to give a proper attempt, failing this, Michael would judge what minimal support I would need to progress. The learning curve has been steep but I have really enjoyed my lessons and I believe with his support you can make a huge amount of progress however unconfident you may feel.

Michael taught me GCSE maths. Michael's teaching style is highly engaging and student-centred. Hello, I have been privlidged for the opportunity to have Michael as my tutor, he explains the hardest concepts in Mathematics in a simple way, that will be easy to remmember and understand which will insure great grades , I reccomend Michael for all GCSE and A LEVEL students and I will guarntee you that your grades will go up by a minimum of two grades.
