Hi, my name is Mia!

I am a medical student at Newcastle University and I am looking to help younger students studying for A-Level or GCSE Biology, English Literature or Physical Education. I would also love to help any students who are wanting to apply for medicine for UKCAT and interview preparation.

Prior to medical school, I studied A-Level Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, EPQ and Physical Education - achieving 3A*s and 2As. I also received 11 GCSEs, grades 7-9, and have experience in mentoring younger pupils through running my school's medical society and volunteering in the peer mentor scheme.

Whist qualifications and experience are important, I believe that the most important thing that I can offer is my passion for learning. I am excited to be able to share my enthusiasm with you and help you understand that learning (and sometimes even exams!) can be fun.

Understanding that everyone has different learning styles that conventional education doesn't always cater for and therefore finding what works best for you is vital in our lessons. I will work with you as an individual to find your own unique way to learn - empowering you with the confidence you need to succeed!

I believe it's also important to recognise that you don't need to know everything and be perfect at a subject to do well. Instead, we will work together to identify and target weak areas, improve exam technique and establish a base knowledge in key topics.

Lengths and timings of a lesson can be adjusted to suit you but I would typically recommend an hour lesson per week to ensure that you don't feel overwhelmed with information but still have ample opportunity for continuous improvement.
