Hi! My names Mia and I'm a first year English Lit student at Royal Holloway University of London. After taking an extra year to do my A-levels and completely changing my course (from CDD in economics, maths and comp sci) to English Lit A*, Economics A and Fine Art A - I found a renewed sense of enjoyment in education and have become inspired to pass down my passion of learning on to new students. In my free time I love to alter and mend old clothes, read medieval poetry and teach myself new languages such as Norwegian and Swedish.

I have been tutoring primary level maths and English through a private centre and also been privately tutoring a young boy in my village for the last couple months (summer 2022). I come from a family full of tutors and teachers and have subsequently found myself drawn to this profession. My approach to teaching is tailored to the individual as no child or young adult has the same needs in a session. I prioritise open communication, high expectations and most importantly making the sessions as engaging as possible for the student!

At the beginning of each session I will help the student lay out specific and achievable targets for the week and we will touch base with this frequently. It is my aim to guide the student into being a strong, independent learner that is capable of putting in the effort day to day to become the best possible scholar they can be (especially when it comes to English Literature!!!).
