I specialize in working with students who are struggling with math. I am confident in identifying and addressing knowledge gaps, helping students understand and catch up on missed concepts. I take a patient and supportive approach, breaking down complex concepts into manageable parts and providing additional practice and reinforcement. Usually, I would provide personalized instruction, reviewing foundational concepts and gradually progressing to more advanced topics. Materials including textbooks, practice problems, and other learning materials to reinforce learning.
One of the most remarkable experiences I have had through out my tutoring journey is with a Year 12 student, who is having her public exam the year after, she had a poor foundation of math knowledge and had to start basically everything from scratch. Given the limited time, I managed to create a supportive atmosphere during lessons, and gave her encouragement and expectation for her to complete the extra worksheets that I have provided to reinforce her learning, which I believe is the second most important of math learning.
The most important part of learning math is understanding math concepts, while school teachers may not be able to explain in a way that every student can understand, that is why math tutor is much needed to support students who are not confident in Math. I am confident in spotting students' knowledge gaps and ensuring that they do understand any math concepts completely and are able to apply them themselves.
All in all, I do believe my passion for Math can inspire students in their math journeys :)
