I like to use a variety of media to help students grasp concepts in a fun and engaging way, History comes alive when you are able to visualize it! I will have an initial consultation to determine key topics, exam board and target grade, as well as your individual learning style and what particular skills need to be focused on. My lessons usually start with a quick recap of what we learned last time, any homework that has been set will be reviewed. Then, we will introduce the topic of the day with a quick interactive activity. Depending on the level, with GCSE and A-Level students, essay structure and practice is absolutely crucial, so the final 30 minutes of the lesson will be spent creating an essay plan and getting some writing done. With younger students, essay writing can be introduced as well as creative writing tasks and small quizzes.
