For my lessons, I will make sure they are a balanced mix of helpful and fun! I believe a lot of the fields adults end up going into, are due to how much they enjoyed the subject when they were younger, therefore I want to create lessons that are enjoyable so the children are excited to learn, and also inspired. I will establish what we are learning using presentations, and then go through some example practice questions. I also love to include creative methods into explaining and trying out ideas. With every child, I know the learning levels will be different, so I will want to explore every possible way we could go about learning new topics, so that they find what helps them the best, and what they are most comfortable with. By the middle of the session, your child would have gone through a couple of the questions by themselves, and any mistakes are encouraged as that's the only way to learning. I will then slowly go through each mistake that was made and help them see the errors and why they don't work. Then we will go through more of it together, and by the end they should be able to answer at least a couple without any help. Of course, if this is not achieved one week, it is not to worry! Kids should not feel pressured to do exceptionally, or have too much forced into their brain at once! I want their way of learning to feel natural to them, and therefore more rewarding when they make an accomplishment. My sessions will be filled with fun, creativity, learning, unique methods, reassurance (almost the most important), and rewards!
