Melanie Alderton

I have over 15 years teaching and tutoring experience. After completing my PGCE in Primary Education I have worked in a variety of educational environments with students of a range of ages, backgrounds, abilities and locations. I have worked for schools, training centers and privately, face to face and online using zoom and Microsoft Teams.

I have gained experience in tutoring children aged 5 - 11 in the core subjects of Mathematics, English, Science, reading and phonics, to help children complete entry exams and support with their homework. I am familiar with the British curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum and can provide support for students applying for secondary school with verbal and non-verbal reasoning. I am also able to support secondary students in English and Mathematics.

I can also assist with tutoring in computing, in the use of Microsoft programs and programming, art, with drawing in perspective and different techniques. I can also provide training in crafts such as knitting, sewing, cross stitch and paper crafts.
I am an adaptable and flexible tutor who can adjust my teaching style to meet the needs of the students. I can support your child with 11+ and SATs preparation or general subject understanding in English, Math's and Science. I am happy to teach individuals or small groups in your own home.
