I have a 'you can do it' attitude, building students confidence and attitude towards all elements of the primary curriculum. A good sense of humour is key believing that getting to know the student and how they learn is they a visual learner etc.
With all tutoring it's important to assess gaps in learning and teach to these also to retain information by revisiting and flashing back to previous learning.
