With a degree in history and experience as a teachers aid at a university level, I know the difficulties of learning history. History isn't just about memorizing dates and names, it's about finding the why and how of things that happened in our past. I like to find fun and interesting ways that make history more than just a monotonous lecture. I like to use images, artifacts and real stories that help engage each student to make history much more exciting. One on one sessions help me better understand how each student learns so I can't adapt and help anyone who is struggling.
From ancient to modern, Mesopotamia to the 21st century, I know my stuff. Everything that has happened in our past shaped our modern day world and I find that fascinating. My passion for history comes through in my lessons and allows me to engage each of my students. Lectures already happen before a student seeks out a tutor and that's not what I do. I like to use videos, pictures, memes, things that students today understand that their teachers might not use in the classroom.
You have a question? I'm more than happy to answer. There is no such thing as a stupid question (I know, typical. But its true!) You have a question because you made a connection in your mind and it got you curious! I'm patient, open, and understanding. I want my passion for history to help students know that history isn't boring and is actually fun, engaging, and exciting!
