Hi!
I have tutored for GCSE and ALevel for two years in STEM subjects.
When working for agencies, I used the basic lesson plan given, but have evolved that now! I use the first lesson to get to know the student, see what type of learner they are. I then construct lesson based off this, eg, if they are a visual learner it will be mainly powerpoints. I start with a warm up, into the main lesson structure were the student learns the info, with recaps and questions all the way through. Ending with a little review that often will be in the form of questions.
I have done many revision/exam technique lessons for those worried about exams, and have helped students go from 5/6 to an 8!
I am laid back in my lessons and try to have it as student led so it can benefit them as much as possible! I always welcome feedback, as the student needs to be getting a perfect lesson otherwsie what's the point! As a university student, I am very flexible with my timings and can tutor on the evenings, during the day or at weekends, whatever suits you best.
My first lessons are always free, to make sure that the student and I are a good fit, we will talk about how the student wants to learn and what content they want to cover and we go from there! Usually students only have one lesson a week - but I am flexible!
