I have around 2 years experience tutoring kids ranging in age from 8-17. All my lessons are specifically tailored and altered to each child as no two kids are the same. This is so that the lessons are as engaging and suitable as possible. I will start off by asking the child what they struggle with and what they excel in and we will work our way through what they struggle with till they believe they excel in it. Each lesson will end with homework being given to the child based on what we had just gone through in the lesson; as just because they understand the content during the lesson, doesn’t mean it will continue to be understood after. Active recall through homework is the only way to ensure this. The beginning of the next lesson will be used to go through the homework and make sure it was indeed understood after the lesson. If the homework was challenging, rather than moving on to the next topic, we will remain on the current topic till there are no problems with the homework and they fully understand the topic.
My goal is to not only aid the children in their mathematical ability but also their confidence. I want them to gain in confidence so that they don’t look at challenging questions and skip them because they believe they can not do it but to attempt knowing that they can do it.
I believe that I will provide fun, engaging and enthusiastic lessons for any age.
