In my lessons, we always start together, so you have a clear example to follow—this is the “I do” part. Then we work as a team, with me guiding you or working with others in the “we do” stage. Finally, you’ll get to try it out on your own during the “you do” part, with my support if you need it. I love to include your interests in our learning and connect it to your own experiences, making lessons fun and meaningful. We focus on having a “growth mindset,” which means we see mistakes and challenges as a chance to learn, using the phrase “I can’t do that YET, but I will be able to soon” I also love adding moments of fun and laughter, so we can enjoy learning together while building social skills and emotional resilience!
I use what I learned from my degree in Education Studies, where I discovered how children learn, and from my teaching qualification in primary education, where I learned how to teach. I’ve worked with children across all primary ages, especially in Year 2 and Year 6. I’ve helped students prepare for important tests like the KS1 and KS2 SATs and the Phonics Screening Test. I love helping children improve their maths, reading, and writing skills. We start with an example (“I do”), work together (“we do”), and then you try it yourself (“you do”)—all with support when needed.
I would love the chance to be your tutor because I enjoy helping children learn and grow. It’s exciting to see you improve your skills, build your confidence, and have fun while learning. Together, we’ll work through challenges, laugh along the way, and celebrate your progress. I can’t wait to see what you can achieve!
