I have experience teaching children and usually tailor my classes to interests they have and their English level. In our first class we can talk about these things to get to know one another! I personally think that a personal relationship is very important for learning, and so classes will take the format of conversations - however these can be tailored around assessments if that is the goal of the classes. I spend time planning so that each session can be fun and enjoyable whilst remaining educational. Parents are welcome to sit in if they like initially to feel more confident in the classes.
I used to live with a family teaching English on a daily basis - we would tell stories and play games to improve vocabulary and conversation skills.
I now have a year's experience teaching adults and would therefore be available for conversation classes with students of any age. I have discussed a wide variety of topics through debate, roleplays and other conversation-based formats, and these, as with classes for children, could be tailored to your personal needs or interests.
As someone who has learnt a second language, I understand that a lot of classes are tailored towards assessment, but for me it was equally as important to experience everyday conversation in order to navigate different contexts. I felt that I could make grand speeches on certain topics, however struggled to maintain a casual conversation. I can help you to express yourself in English in a way that feels true to who you are.
