Research has proven that the best way to teach is to use a student-centred learning approach rather than a teacher-centred approach which leaves out many skills and learning opportunities for students. As such, you can expect me take full advantage of the wonderful teaching resource that you are to maximise learning opportunities for yourself and others in a lesson. I will encourage my students to make plenty of mistakes, all of which will hopefully provide strategic learning opportunities.

Lessons will follow a similar structure: starter, introduction, main and plenary. That is the basic frame most UK teachers use. I will also be using PowerPoint and other visual cues and auditory cues to facilitate the lessons. Students can expect my lessons to be fun, interactive, creative and incisive. Expect lots of laughter, questions, moments to reflect and opportunities to contribute.

Though I trained in South Africa, all my teaching experience has been in the UK. I have taught in some of the best private schools including Merchant Taylors' Prep and Fulham Prep. I also have experience teaching in government schools. As a gifted writer, you can also fully expect me to use storytelling and anecdotes to facilitate learning. Human beings remember narratives much more than they remember facts so expect me to utilise narrative frames.
