Hi, my name is Mayulu and I'm a Clinical Research Scientist with a passion for Science and Teaching. I have a Neuroscience Masters in Research Degrees and a First Class Immunology and Pharmacology Degree from the University of Strathclyde. I am extremely proud of my achievements to date but thrive in helping other achieve their goals and dreams. My studies allowed me to explore areas such as Presention skills, Genetics and Pharmacological nature of chemical compounds, and my Neuroscience Masters Research project focused on the adaptation of neural stem cell in the treatment of stroke patient.
I teach students aged 10 to 25+ in subjects like Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, but I also help connect students with tutors for other subjects when needed. I believe in tailoring my teaching methods to suit each student's learning style, and this has been especially effective in helping students with ADHD and dyslexia achieve success in their studies.
As someone who has struggled with anxiety child who has severe dyslexia it has given me a new persepective on alternative teaching methods to aid success. I also understand the pressure to excel not just academically but professionally in my day to day job. These experiences have allowed me to empathise and offer emotional and academic support to my students. I’m here to help them not only master their coursework but also develop the resilience and confidence to thrive.
At work, I mentor new colleagues in the research field and guide them during their career progression as a senior member of the team. I also lead an IDE programmewhich strives for inclusivity, diversity and equality, based on merit, which has developed my leadership and mentoring skills. As a result, I can pass on a share how to be confident in your abilities to achieve the greatest success. I strive to instill a successful culture in my students ensuring they can manage stressful situations with ease, and that the fear of exams and failure does not hold them back from achieving their full potential.
