Maya Williams is a personal trainer and professional dancer with six year's experience in fitness spanning yoga, flying low, capoeira, pilates, aerobics, circus, jazz, HIIT training, pole fitness, floor barre and body conditioning.
They offer practical and effective workouts adapted for the home. Drawing from their experience as a dancer, their classes have a focus on finding the fluidity and flow between exercises, whilst strengthening the full body. They prioritise a body and mind connection in fitness, working from a place of self-awareness and intention to build strength, stamina and develop the bodies natural range of motion. Classes consist of a thorough warm up and mobilisation of the joints. Followed by a series of exercises with a focus on building strength from the center, these exercises draw from contemporary dance and yoga practices, making use of the floor, the individuals body weight and developing balance. Maya is a stretching specialist and every class will include an intentional series of stretches which will improve flexibility in everyday movement. The class will the close with a cool down.
Maya has taught personal training online and in person since 2020 in London, Leeds and Berlin. Maya trained at Lewisham Southwark College, Trinity Laban conservatoire and the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Maya has performed in venues across London and Berlin including Ovalhouse, The Barbican, The Albany, Deptford X Festival, Camden Roundhouse, Open House Hackney, Sophiensaele, Electrowerkz, Bermondsey Project Space, Somerset House Studios and Vault Festival.
