I have just finished GCSEs and have achieved a grade 9 in my mock exams in January. I will be pursuing Maths and Further Maths in September. I have a passion for mathematics and I wish for more people to see maths as more of a puzzle exercise, rather than an arduous and compulsory subject that drags along for years on end.
My teaching method is to start with absolute basics and securing basic foundations of the topics by playing games and mind exercises and step-by-step practice questions. As well as that, out of lessons I can look for resources, send them beforehand, which we can do during the lesson and refer them to external resources to do out of lessons to secure foundations in the topic and to come to the lesson with a fresh mind and the basic knowledge needed.
For the past few months, I have tutored my friend in school for GCSE maths, ramping him from a Grade 4 level to a grade 7 level in a matter of a month . Additionally, I have also tutored my sister in her 7+, where I have carried out my techniques of constant step-by-step practice questions to make sure she has secured all prerequisites for starting effective revision for the 7+ exam. It has seemed to work so far as her maths has dramatically improved these past few months of revision.
