My teaching style is very conversational, explaining not only what we are doing but also why - this puts the skills into the context of their use to make it easier to understand and useful.
I also try to be chatty and make the lessons exciting to really show the fun that can be harboured from learning - without interest, the skills will be useless. My friendly patience will give as much time as my students need to think and understand so that they know the answers, not just say the right thing in the moment. I care about education and access to knowledge, not money, so I put everything I can into helping my students.
I also have a long experience working with young people as a highly commended party host at a play centre and library volunteer among other things, so i know exactly how to inject fun and energy into anything as well as knowing when it's time to be quiet and still have fun. This also shows that I can balance many responsibilities and still give 100% to each person I meet with my understanding of how young people's minds work, especially when frustrated.
I have also found it very difficult to learn certain areas of study throughout my own SATS and GCSEs, so I know how frustrating the struggle is, but I also have 4 Russell group university offers and have applied to Oxford - showing that I know that anyone can achieve it with hard work.
