I will approach lessons with a prepared plan of what I am going to take the student through, this will be formed through a dialogue with the student addressing their strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, on a continuous basis, I will be looking for gaps in the students knowledge which can be filled in future sessions in order to ensure complete understanding of the topics covered. The lessons will initially begin with a short introduction given by myself to give the student the fundamental concepts of the topic followed by some simple questions. Following this, there will be some more tricky examples shown which would be grade 6/7 and the student will work through them with me. Finally some grade 8/9 questions which, once understood, will ensure the student has the knowledge required to complete any question that may come up on such topic in the exam. I very much believe that mathematics as a subject is very much about understanding the key concepts and more importantly applying them to questions to consolidate understanding. I can ensure that any topics which are not fully understood by students will be resolved enabling them to achieve their desired grades at GCSE level. In addition to this I can also offer questions to be completed in independent study time which will be marked by me for further feedback on where to improve.
