Salut!
I started tutoring French when I was studying it for A-level. I helped younger students prepare for GCSE and AS level language exams and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the progress I made with them. It was incredible seeing how much of an impact as little as half an hour of extra French per week could have on students' ability and confidence. Since studying French at University and living in France I've regularly continued to tutor all levels of French alongside teaching English as a second language. I've gained some really valuable experience through this.
Whilst my lessons vary depending on both the ability and aims of the student, I always encourage as much French speaking as possible to develop fluency. The bulk of a typical lesson with me will be taken up by going over grammar and vocabulary points learnt at school, completing homework or coursework together, and working on reading, speaking, and listening exercises together to consolidate knowledge. Nearer to exam time we will go through past papers and make sure that extra attention is paid to areas where the student feels less confident. I use many different online resources to make sure that lessons remain varied and fun and I always keep some time at the end of each lesson to provide feedback and plan future lessons.
Ultimately, how we spend our time is up students and parents. So let me know exactly what you would like to gain from our lessons and I can tailor each lesson to you.
I look forward to meeting you and speaking some French.
À bientôt!
