I am a graduate of English Literature from Newcastle University with a 1st Class degree, and experience primarily in tutoring at English at a GCSE level, but branching out into A-Level tutoring also. Whether you need some help with English or are already exceeding in your studies and ready to go to the next level, I am here to provide my own experience and insight to support you and to help you reach your goals. Lessons-
I am a passionate and dedicated teacher with personal experience studying English, teaching students aged 11+ in English. I specialise in English Literature with a particular focus on helping students to apply their knowledge in reasoned and considered ways, as markers are looking for. I like to begin teaching sessions by looking at general topics (e.g. a discussion of themes, historical context, or form) and help students progress to applying this knowledge in essay-style arguments. This way, lessons remain engaging and fun, with the flexibility to branch out into any topic or goal a student may need help with. Through these discussions and exercises, the thought processes and ordering of ideas required for excellence in exams, coursework, and other English assignments will become second nature. This lesson formula can easily be shifted and altered to meet the needs of the individual student so that lessons remain supportive, encouraging, and suitably challenging for students of every level.
