I like to style my lessons to what each individual needs. Whether it be past paper questions, making flashcards and posters, or just marking exam papers, I am happy to do whatever is best. I find my own questions and resources online and use them to make each session as productive as possible.
I currently have one student as of this academic year so far, who is in Year 9.
I have taught 4 students so far, all at GCSE level and have managed to increase all of their grades from where they were originally by 1 or 2 grades. All of my previous students and parents have given me very kind reports, and would provide some again if needed.
I prefer to keep my lessons at only 1 hour in length per session, in order to keep the focus as high as possible for that hour, and avoid it drifting and wandering when the student becomes tired. I also prefer to do my lessons before 6 each time, as much after I find that the student starts to settle into the evening and becomes less interested in studying. Weekdays are also a much better day to tutor, as the students are in more of a work mood, and it stops interfering with any plans they might have.
I am currently studying for a BSc Computer Science Degree at the University of Exeter, so my mornings and afternoon are quite busy, but I have plenty of time in the afternoons and evenings to tutor.
