Before the lessons begin, I'd ask the student what syllabus they were learning and what areas of that syllabus they'd like to focus on so that I could be fully prepared for our first lesson. During the lessons, I will do brief walk throughs on the content of which we are learning and finish with a variety of questions related to that topic. Before the lessons begin, I'd ask the student what syllabus they were learning and what areas of that syllabus they'd like to focus on so that I could be fully prepared for our first lesson. During the lessons, I will do brief walk throughs on the content of which we are learning and finish with a variety of questions related to that topic. I would first walkthrough the questions myself so that they get an example of what to do, then I would ask them to complete the questions for themselves with me checking the answers upon completion. I will never pressure them for an answer and I'll always make sure that they full understand whatever I'm asking of them.
