Matthew King

I have been teaching for 14 years and I am a senior leader in an outstanding grammar school. I have won a STEM Teaching award and was runner up in the 2021 Royal Society of Biology teacher of the year award.

I have a bachelors degree in Oceanography and a PGCE in Secondary Biology. I am currently leading on the teaching and learning side of things at my school as a seconded member of the senior leadership team.

I like to use zoom having pre identified what you would like to focus on. I utilise a combination of interactive and visualiser based lessons. I always set follow up questions on Google classroom and post any materials used for later use. Parents are also invited to this Google classroom so they can also see the learning being completed. I particularly like using analogies and models to explain complex biological processes. Some of my recorded lessons are featured with STEM learning UK.
