I have two years experience working in accounting and finance for Endoxa and Anlo financial solutions and took a pause from work in order to finish my degree in Financial Management where I am majoring in financial management and economics with financial accounting as my minor. I also have experience tutoring accounting and mathematics (which was completed at a first year level at the University of Stellenbosch.)

I am enthusiastic about helping students through the learning process and I am planning on studying my PGCE next year so that I can work as a teacher. I am diligent and do not believe in a one size fits all approach to teaching. Every person is different and learns differently and I love understanding how my students learn so that I can personalise their lesson so that it is optimised for every student.

I believe in the constructivist approach to learning which is designed to have me and the student work together to help them learn and understand the topic. It is my job to guide the student through the coursework and facilitate them in understanding the topic on their own. This is done by linking past concepts and practical examples through discussion and trying to use their experience to fully understand the topic. This process gives the student the optimal environment to retain the information in the long term and better understand future concepts as that they can then use this topic to better understand the next topic, thus creating a reinforcing cycle of learning.
