Hi there! I specialize in Japanese tutoring, but I also offer lessons in all humanities subjects.

My lessons are dynamic, tailored, and designed to make learning enjoyable for you. We will start off each lesson with a review of the last, helping to build your long-term memory and confidence. Depending on your goals, we’ll focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing, with real-world Japanese use at the core of our practice.

For beginners, I emphasize foundational grammar and vocabulary, using my cultural knowledge from 5 years of living in Tokyo to enhance your learning. It's important to get this down pat. Intermediate and advanced students can expect immersive conversational practice, nuanced grammar and expressions, and a deep dive into kanji, formal expressions, and engaging with real-world materials together.

We will use a mixture of textbooks that I have read font-back over the past 11 years, custom worksheets, and materials such as articles, videos, and photos of real Japanese in Japan. This will help you to see how the grammar and vocabulary you're studying are used in real life. It's your lesson, so of course, how we run it is entirely flexible.

Do you have plans to take the JLPT? Not a problem. I'm an expert in N5-N2 exams.
