In terms of teaching, the session generally starts with a brief presentation of one another. Then, an evaluation of the participant's level in terms of understanding, writing and speaking the language. We discuss the aim of the session (passing an exam, pleasure becoming fluent, practising the language, acquiring vocabulary etc) and then agree on how and when to reach it. I suggest a range of different activities that we adapt depending on what the participant likes and how they learn (by listening, writing...). We also agree on a schedule (is the language practised within the session only or does the participant want to submit written papers, is it going to be evaluated or not...). Of course, I regularly review the process with the person in order to adapt it !
