I am an accomplished and able lecturer and tutor with twenty-three years of successful practical experience in working both in the college environment and in a community setting. I worked extensively in Post-16 education such as Access courses, as well as at A-level, Philosophy, Art and creative crafts. I have extensive knowledge and background in teaching History and archaeology. I am a student-focused educator and believe that encouraging and supporting my students is every bit as important as delivering the curriculum. I have gained expertise in a vast range of levels and subjects along with mentoring and personal tutoring experience, from working in community adult education, tertiary colleges, under-grad level teaching and heading up an independent school for children recovering from the trauma of bullying.
My PGCE is specifically in Post 16 Education, History, and Archaeology. I have taught extensively across all levels of education, including secondary, tertiary education, AS/A and Access to Education and Community Education. I am resourceful, empathetic, imaginative, hardworking and dedicated to the idea of empowering people through education and constructive support at all levels. My varied skill set is all based on communication, listening and understanding. I also have experience as a volunteer crisis counsellor for young people through Off the Record, Basingstoke ( ) and I have training in Emotional Coaching, and Counselling Skills (QCF), Level 2, and extensive training in Mental Health and Safeguarding.
Basically, I'm damned good at what I do.
