I will be hosting lessons on Zoom, so as to make use of the whiteboard feature, allowing me to present concepts clearly and effectively.
I will aim to begin each session with a discussion on the topic to assess the student's current ability, followed by some teaching around the subject content, using exam specifications to ensure the student is taught everything they need to know for any upcoming exams. The sessions will mostly be spent working through practice questions to consolidate the subject material, as I believe this is the best way to make sure that the student has understood the lesson, as well as to help prepare them for exams.
I previously tutored GCSE students in Maths and Science, whilst I was an A-Level student myself. At GCSE, I obtained 6x9s, 2x8s and 2A*s, whilst at A-Level I obtained 4 A* and I am currently an undergraduate Chemistry student at the University of Oxford. I myself have had some tutoring throughout my education, not only to help me with my studies and homework, but also to stretch and challenge me further than the curriculum, allowing me to question and explore areas of science that I had not previously considered. Due to this, I understand firsthand the benefits of having a good tutor, and I hope to bring the experience of being a tutor and someone who was tutored, to this role as an online tutor. If you have any questions, or queries, please do not hesitate to get in contact.
