Hi! My name is Mary and I am an experienced tutor who has a friendly, informal yet professional approach to teaching. I believe in creating good relationships with my students, offering support and encouragement to help them become confident and capable English speakers.

With over 12 years experience teaching English as a foreign language to students from all over the world from Beginner to Advanced levels, I have become very flexible and adaptable in my teaching style, and can tailor lessons to a wide range of learning goals.

Whether you require intensive exam practice in order to get into University, want to brush up your interview skills in order to progress in your career, or even just to feel more confident conversing or writing in English, I can help you. Thanks to my academic background, including recently completing a Masters in Psychology, I have an excellent grasp of what is required of students at Bachelors and Masters level, and specialise in teaching academic writing.

I teach via Skype, with lessons typically lasting 60-90 minutes. I aim to include a range of materials and activities in each lesson, all focused on learning useful real life English, not photocopies of old coursebook worksheets!
